Common air refrigerator symptoms
Not cooling
We understand how important is it to repair faulty refrigeration units as quickly as possible. If you can no longer cool the temperature of your cold room or refrigeration unit, call our engineers, who will carry out tests on your system and make repairs as necessary.
Ice is appearing
The build-up of ice in your refrigeration unit/chiller can be a sign of both temperature fault and leaking. Our engineers will examine the unit to determine the cause of the problem. Typically, units that are freezing require a deep clean or a leak fixing.
Loss of performance
When the refrigeration/freezer unit is not performing as it once did it may be a simple result of not having the unit regularly serviced, or it could be a more serious issue such as a refrigerant leak. If the unit is dirty, having the system deep cleaned is often enough to resolve the problem, but more in-depth investigations are required to find a potential leak.
Increased energy bills
Refrigeration units depend on being able to expel heat freely in order to remain at the required temperature. When a build-up of grime or another blockage interferes with this, the system must work much harder to achieve an equivalent cooling performance. It will also require more electricity to power this and place undue stress on other system components, all of which lead to increased bills and reduced performance.
Noisy unit
If the outdoor unit is making more noise than usual, then it might require a replacement fan motor and likewise for the indoor unit. The condensate pump which removes moisture from the system may also be at fault as when these start to fail they can become noisy.
Gas leak
Your system uses a reserve of refrigerant gas in order to function. If refrigerant gas is leaking from your unit, it will quickly stop working. Contact us and one of our engineers will visit to locate and repair the leak.
No power
When the refrigeration unit shuts down unexpectedly, check for tripped fuses in the main fuse board. For outdoor units, you might also want to check the electrical isolator to ensure this is in the “on” position. In any case, call our team, who will talk you through the problem and dispatch an engineer as required.
